My deceptive sister said that she would give me a Crunch bar if I told her the definition and etymology of the word Prestidigitor, but alas afterward she being deceptive said she never said when and wouldn’t give it to me.

  2. Katie McCombs Says:

All he wanted was her to notice him. To look at him the way he looked at her. Just knowing who he was would suffice and there it was. Right in front of him, a way to get her attention. The key to her heart, magic. She loved magic. So that was it. No questions asked, he would become a magician. No! He would become the best prestidigitator she had ever seen.

  3. Austin Fickman Says:

I was watching Presto, a short film by Pixar, last week. It’s about a prestidigitator who can’t get his rabbit to cooperate with his his magic tricks.

  4. Tori West Says:

14 year old Cate buys her ticket to the carnival. There were many fun things at the carnival she enjoyed but the thing she enjoyed the most was magic shows. She wanted to be a famous prestidigitator like her uncle Sam. She takes the front row seat and sits down. Her best friend Jordan walks in the door and takes a seat right next to her. The show is the usual he does the cards , the hat out of the rabbit, but Jordan will never forget the last trick he does. The prestidigitator calls out to the crowd” I will need a person from the audience for this trick.” Cate’s hand soars throughout the crowd with the numerouss other hands already up in the air. “You” as he points at Cate, she walks up to the stage full of excitement.” This act will be a disappearing act he” he says. Then, he puts her in a box about her size and closes the door. He turns the box around a couple of times and sure enough when he opens the door she is gone. The crowd looks in astonishment. He turns the box around a few more times to make her reappear again, but when he opens it she is still not there. The crowd gasps in fear. Fearul that he can’t bring her back, he grabs the sack of money and runs for it. He quit his job and became a pugilist. As for the girl she was never seen or heard of again.
    The End

Everyday, River’s clothes got more and more tattered. After everything he’d been through, you’d think he would have even a smidgen of luck. But no, he was always sitting there in the same place each night. Once in a while, River would go to the boardwalk and try to accumulate any sort of income with a prestidigitation act. Although it would never be enough for him to return to his old style of living, it was enough to salvage his life.

  10. Hailey McCullough Says:

A great magician performs his tricks with ease, but an even greater prestidigitator will never tell his secrets.

I looked up the definition and it said, “magic tricks performed as entertainment.”

  11. Allison Konno Says:

It was gloaming at the Grove State Fair, the only form of entertainment at Sector 13. The prestidigitator was amazing, talented, and left the crowd in wonderment. Little kids eyes were glued to the tricks he preformed; parents tried to act like they knew how he did it, but they really had no clue. The prestidigitator was about to preform his last trick, the one he was the most famous for, the one special trick that had people coming and coming even though they had work to do. The bright lights darkened and spotlights glided across the room, the prestidigitator asked for a volunteer. Each year it was someone different, this year it was a young girl who looked to be about 8. The little girl excited ran up the stage. It happened it a matter of seconds, none of those strange weird words were said like presto pesto or abracadabra. The girl was floating, no now soaring through the room. The prestidigator’s eyes were closed in concentration, the girl slowly flew back to the stage. The show was over, the little girl had gone back to her seat, the curtains closed.

“I think I’ve found him,” said a man on his phone who was surely from the city’s center, “I’m pretty sure, I’ll get it done quick. I think this is last one, with his power he could over run us, he’s so popular among the crowd he could get them to riot. We definetly need sector 13 to work for us. I’m going to get it done right now.” The man flipped his phone and discreetly slid back stage.

The prestidigitator slowly walked onto stage. His black hood, casting a shadow over his face, was up and over his head. There was yellow lace all around his hood. A yellow ribbon was tied around his neck in a bow. A small robe went over his arms leading down to his elbow. He was wearing long black sleeves and lock black pants. He was wearing black gloves too. Standing in the spotlight, he slowly reached his arm out. “Welcome. Prepare to be amazed. I will please ask all parents with children to please take their children out. This show is not for young children. You will get a full refund on your way out.”
Two families arose from their seat and left with their children. One woman, who had a child on both sides of her, didn’t stand up.
“You there.” He points to the woman with the two children. “I have warned you.” he puts his arm down.
The roof opens, letting in stunning Moonlight. The prestidigitator slowly pulls off his hood revealing his face. There’s a big scar down the center, as if someone had cut it open and sewed it shut. “Now, I summon upon the moon goddess. Moon goddess, hear my calling.” He puts his head down. “Show yourself!”
His body slowly rose and his head leaned back. The moonlight was shining over him. His mouth opened, gasping for air.
An angelic voice said, “I entrust myself to you.” She sang an enchanting melody. The prestidigitator’s face opened at the car. A clear, blue figure danced out of his face. She opened her arms revealing her body. “Give me this dance.” She said, raising her arm up to the sky. Another figure appeared from the sky. It was a male.
“Of course, my dear.” He steps down from the sky on a nonexistent staircase and kisses her hand.
The body of the prestidigitator fell to the ground, letting out the first figure’s legs.

Billie was excited to go see his favorite prestidigitator perform live tonight. Billie got in trouble in school for day-dreaming about how amazing it is going to be to see the magician with the sobriquet Mysterion. He was famous world wide for making people disappear and for having people from the audience come up to participate. Billie was had arrived early so he didn’t have to wait in line. As he walked in he saw Mysterion on the stage practicing his tricks. As he walked up Mysterion said ” Would you like to be a part of my show?” this was a dream come true for Billie and quickly replied ” YES!” as fast as he could. So Billie was taught what he was going to do, but the trick was not revealed. The show was starting and Billie was sitting in the front row. He started off with a couple easy tricks pulling a bunny out of a hat, chopping himself in half… all amateur stuff. Then it was the grand finale. Billie was asked to come up along with 24 other kids from the audience. Mysterion was going to make them all disappear. It was going to be his biggest stunt. Somehow he pulled off this trick and every single person was gone right before everyone’s eyes. The show ended and people were looking for there missing friends. and kids, But none of the contestants were to be found along with Mysterion. After days of searching people started to give up on the search. Eventually Billie came back home a month later, but he was not the same. He spent all his time in his room in the corner rocking back-and-forth sobbing. He later went insane and was locked up in a mental asylum along with the other contestants. No one ever found Mysterion and no one will ever know what he did with all those kids. All we know is that whatever he did was so bad every person had to block it from there memory and whenever it came up they would have a mental break down. The police spent years looking for Mysterion, but they never found him and all the kids went without justice.

    WINNING !!!!!!!!!

  44. Natalie Shutts :) Says:

The crowd was utterly silent. Awed, not one soul in the stadium said a word. Sleek and mysterious in a slick black suit, the prestidigitator amazed the onlookers with little more than a few magic tricks. That was merely the appetizer. Cards were simply too amateur for his abilities though, so he went on to call up a volunteer. “I require an assistant. Is there one of you who is willing to take a risk?” he said with a devilish grin. Nothing would go wrong, he assured himself, but he always got the chills before this trick. So much to lose. He pointed to an eager young woman in the third row of the stadium, and nearly jumped out of her seat. ready to be amazed by the world-famous Henry Houdini. “For this trick, this woman will conquer the impossible. Defy all limitations we humans are forced to accept. This woman will defy the laws of gravity. With a quick flick of his hand, the woman rose. The low murmur from the crowd slowly rose to a cheer. She was floating, graceful and suprised, six feet off the ground. “I did it,” he whispered to himself. “Thank you! My name is Houdini, and goodnight!” He helped the woman down to her feet, and said softly, “Thank you.”
